i could not wait to blog about maria forde! i wish i was best friends with her when i was living in san francisco. i wish we could hang out at dolores park...maybe with a simple picnic lunch...and we would people watch for the afternoon. i first found out about her illustrations at lost weekend (1034 valencia st, sf, ca 94110). where she sells her famous celebrity (her favorite actresses & actors) buttons (plus the occasional director printed tee). i'm a proud owner of a shelley duvall (3 women) and a sissy spacek (badlands) button! her zines are brillant -- you should buy one!
